Kate Boulton – Director

Kate Boulton (she/her) is a health and human rights attorney committed to challenging the criminalization and punishment of marginalized communities, including people seeking abortion and other stigmatized care.

 

Since 2018, she has served as a Senior Legal Technical Advisor at public health organization Vital Strategies, where she focuses on addressing legal and policy barriers to harm reduction and promoting evidence-based overdose prevention strategies. Prior to her current work in drug policy, Kate led the Positive Justice Project at the Center for HIV Law and Policy and completed a fellowship focused on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of people engaged in sex work at the Center for Health and Gender Equity. Kate received her JD from Harvard Law School and her MPH from the University of Michigan. In her free time, you can find her exploring the wild beauty of New Mexico, playing water polo, or puttering around on the piano.
